Black History Month 2020: The Future is So Bright

This year for #BlackHistoryMonth I’m going to celebrate a different person each day. Sometimes they will be people that most of us have heard of, sometimes they may be people very few of us have heard of. Each have created or achieved something that taught me, moved me, changed me, filled me.

On the last day of #BlackHistoryMonth I’d like to give a shout out to the next generation. The future is bright for and because of them.

I know lots of amazing people who are doing their best to help the nextgen create their own better futures. For #BlackGirls Code and #BlackGirlMagic and #BlackBoyJoy. And just #BlackKidsEverywhere.

That is all. I hope you’ve enjoyed this February journey. I sure have. I honestly can’t remember the last time I blogged 29 days in a row, if ever. All these amazing people I profiled inspired me to keep going!

The next generation has a lot of role models to look up to, some of whom I’ve profiled this month, many of whom can be found in this awesome video. (Yes I know it’s an ad, don’t care, it’s still inspiring and moving). If we can all pledge to be there for them, they will be there for the world. They already are. Make their efforts worth their while. Let’s not keep screwing this up for them.
