Black History Month 2020: Anita Hill
This year for #BlackHistoryMonth I’m going to celebrate a different person each day. Sometimes they will be people that most of us have heard of, sometimes they may be people very few of us have heard of. Each have created or achieved something that taught me, moved me, changed me, filled me.
This is going to be a short on because it’s a simple one: I believed Anita Hill then. I believe her now.
And my fondest wish would be for this lawyer, ethicist, and professor to be on the Supreme Court.
It is a testament to her strength of character, courage, and perseverance that not only is her name synonymous with a changing perspective on sexual harassment in the workplace, but that she continued on with a substantive serious career and didn’t shy away when comment was sought last year on Christine Blasey Ford’s testimony about Brett Kavanaugh.
She’s a sheroe if there ever was one, and that’s what I have to say about THAT.
